공원 녹지가 부족한 동북부 지역에 시민이 참여하는 자연 친화적인 대규모 숲 조성을 목표로 한 서울시의 현상공모 출품작이다. 서울에는 생태공원, 도심형 공원, 근린공원 등 각 지역마다 특징을 갖는 Green Cluster를 갖고 있다. 아직 비어있던 동북부 지역에 조성되는 거대한 숲을 통해 한강을 따라 Urban Green Cluster Network를 완성한다. 기존의 공원과는 차별화된 참여와 새로운 요구를 수용하고 그 위에 녹색의 지붕을 씌우는 것 즉 다양한 소프트웨어를 가진 문화 인프라로서 숲을 조성하고자 한다. 숲쟁이숲은 공간의 틀을 짜는 모티브로 재해석되고 숲 안은 다채로운 커뮤니티 장이 된다. 옛 숲의 의미와 원형을 빌어와 현대의 요구를 수용하는 새로운 시도로 전통 마을숲에서 진화한 New Tech Forest를 제안한다.

This project proposed large eco-friendly forest in the area of northen east city of Seoul where lack of green space. The city of Seoul has green cluster composed with ecopark, urban park and neighborhood park. This northen east area, however, does not have one of those green cluster components. Thus this project is supposed to satisfy city’s plan of Urban Green Cluster Network. It is going to be differentiated with existing projects by its own program such as citizen’s participation and their demand and creating green roof. Having these cultural based infrastructures, the forest will accept diverse community and will also accept meaning of past forest and will be translated as a New Technology Forest.
